Dividend yield
A year's dividends divided by today's share price, as a percentage. 20kobo uses all dividends declared in the last full calendar year.
A high yield can mean a generous company, or a share price that has fallen. It says nothing about future dividends.
A plain-language explanation from 20kobo, where the word is used beside the figure it describes.
